What are probiotics ?

So far, studies have shown that what you eat has a big impact on your health. Probiotics are safe, living bacteria that can be eaten to improve your gut and mood. Probiotics are beneficial bacteria found naturally in foods like yogurt and pickles. They come in powder or capsule form. It can improve the digestive system and treat diarrhea or bloating.

The effects of probiotics include shaping the body's immune system, producing antibacterial substances, fermenting fiber in the diet and providing nutrients to the cells in our intestines.

 

Can probiotics improve mood?

Experts say certain foods seem to boost spirits. Like the comfort food we eat when we're feeling down, whether it's cheese or dessert, or a bowl of ice cream. Of course, it could also be a psychological or behavioral association. Rather than bacteria reacting to nutrients in the food, it's likely that our brains associate eating the food with memories of comfort or pleasure. How do you use probiotics?

2. High CFU count, 5 to 10 billion CFU per day for children and at least 10 to 20 billion CFU per day for adults

3. Viability and strain diversity. Look for multiple strains to make sure they can get into the gut

4. Prebiotics and supplements - In order for probiotics to grow, prebiotics are needed.

Most people benefit from taking probiotics continuously at a fixed time of day. It is recommended to take probiotics first thing in the morning, about 15-20 minutes before breakfast, to ensure that your probiotics are better reaching your digestive tract rather than getting stuck in your stomach.
